The Purpose of the Sanctuary of the Sacred Union is to pave the way from Me to We:
To heal, transform, rise and deepen together in community.
In this safe and sacred space we put down our armor and guardedness.
I look around and see your loving intention, care and integrity.
As you trust the innate goodness in me, I too find courage to share myself vulnerably.
Thank you for seeing me, for gifting me the experience of feeling seen,
May I see you and honor you too.
My Sister and Brother, we are mirrors to each other,
May I receive the blessing of your loving reflection,
Even as it shines light into my own imperfection.
Can I appreciate the gift of a blind spot revealed
Lean into tensions until we both are healed?
So much gratitude for the help of the community
As we change core beliefs from separateness to unity
We are here for each other and together we sow
the sprouts of the new and help them grow.
Thich Nhat Hanh said ‘the next Buddha might not take the form of an individual, but as a community showing us the way of love and compassion’.
As members of the Sanctuary we are in an active exploration and ongoing transformation to take the next step towards this beautiful vision. May we heal from trauma together, and may we then engage each other and the world with more presence and become more present and loving parents to the next generation.
